THLTAID012 first aid in a caring and educational environment replaces the out-of-date HTLAID004 give emergency first aid in a caring and educational environment.
The specialised approach of this course would be advantageous to anyone who frequently interacts with toddlers and newborns, including daycare and education personnel. Our Humber College course includes everything from HLTAID011. First aid should be given in addition to treating typical newborn and child illnesses.
Participants in this unit must be fully employed in the childcare industry and be acquainted with ACEQCA’s policies. Participants should alternatively complete the standard HLTAID011 if they are not in the childcare industry. Give them a first-aid certificate if they require one.
There is some theory and practical evaluation to ensure the participant has picked up the requisite knowledge and confidence in the abilities provided in the course. You must do CPR for two minutes on a manikin lying on the ground by the instruction booklet. Additionally, participants must demonstrate a range of practical skills, including slings and other tools.
